The certification is important. But the terminology shouldn't be confusing.
ISO 22196:2011 is an international test method used to evaluate the antibacterial activity of plastics and other non-porous surfaces. The testing evaluates how effectively an antibacterial-treated surface inhibits the growth of specified bacteria under controlled laboratory conditions.
It means the surface has a measurable antimicrobial property evaluated against a recognized testing standard — an additional product property, not a replacement for proper daycare hygiene.
