Ontario Daycare Furnishings Compliance Checklist

This checklist covers furniture and furnishings only. It is a planning aid, not legal advice or a guarantee of licensing. Final approval depends on your space, fire and building inspection, ratios, staffing, and your Ministry program advisor. Verify current requirements with your licensing authority.

  • A crib or cradle for each infant, per program and parent direction
  • Firm, correctly sized mattresses; sleep surfaces that meet the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act
  • A change table with a guard, next to a hand-washing sink
  • Nothing that lets an infant climb toward a hazard

Toddler room (18 months – 2.5 years)

Furnish it compliance-ready

Kidicare furniture is built compliance-ready — Canadian-made, with ISO 22196–tested antibacterial surfaces (tested against E. coli and S. aureus), rounded edges, and wall-anchoring — so your furnishings are never the reason your centre opens late or fails inspection.
