DRAFT. Part of the Ontario daycare resource hub. This is the deep-dive on the money: which programs exist, who qualifies, how much, and how to actually access it.
CWELCC: the main event
The Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care system funds fee reductions plus capital to create new licensed spaces. Most operators access it by enrolling in-system through their municipality.
Programs at a glance
| Program | Who | Amount | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Start-up / space-creation | New & expanding licensed centres | Up to $350,000 per 20 spaces [VERIFY] | Capital |
| Home child care start-up | Licensed home providers | $1,200/space, max $7,200 [VERIFY] | Capital |
| ELCC Infrastructure Fund | Reno / new build | Project-based [VERIFY] | Capital |

How to access it (the part people miss)
Ontario flows most funding through your local CMSM/DSSAB, not directly from the province. Start with your municipality's child care services office.
Turning grants into a finished centre
Eligible capital covers furniture, fixtures and equipment. We prepare an itemized, grant-ready equipment budget per room so your approved funding becomes an inspection-ready space. See turnkey packages or explore the Canada resource hub for other provinces.
